In 1992 the Board improperly extended the 21-day voting period by over 6 months in order to get enough votes to “approve” Covenant amendments.
In March, 1993, the Board “approved” Covenant amendments after counting only 37 ballots total, far short of the 66-2/3 of Resident Owners as required. Only 44 ballots were received, 7 of which were disqualified for various reasons (some improperly).
The 1992 and 1993 Covenant amendments were abandoned in 1995 after concerned Bannockburn members forced the Board to review the amendment procedures used in 1992 and 1993.
See 1995 Resolved for more information.
Sadly, this is not the last time a Board has behaved in a manner contrary to the Bylaws or Covenants. There have been significant problems with the 2012 Covenants, 2019 Covenant vote, proposed Bylaws and 2019 election of Board members. When James Rogers joined the Board in December of 2019, he began pressuring the Board to inform Bannockburn members of these issues. The 2020 and 2021 Board’s responses, by majority agreement, has been and remains to keep Bannockburn members uninformed of these issues.
